Avalon is the 86-acre shopping, dining and living district off Old Milton Parkway. Its own about page lists more than 570,000 square feet of shops, a 12-screen theater, The Hotel at Avalon with 330 rooms and a conference center, offices and 637 homes. It is private property with its own rules, set out below.
Know before you go

Getting there and parking
From GA 400, take Exit 10 for Old Milton Parkway (GA 120) and head west; Avalon is on the right. Turn right on 2nd Street for valet, Avalon’s directions page says. There are entrances off Old Milton and Westside parkways.
- Self-parking is free every day in the decks and surface lots on the north and south sides.
- On-street meters along Avalon Boulevard are for quick stops.
- Valet costs $12, at three stands: Avalon Boulevard and 2nd Street near Concierge, Avalon Boulevard and 3rd Street near Oak Steakhouse, and The Hotel at Avalon. Valet hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday (valet page). No oversized vehicles or motorcycles.
- Motorcycles are not allowed in the decks. Avalon parking is for its guests; other cars may be towed.
- On foot or by bike, the Alpha Loop links Avalon with downtown.
The rules
Avalon’s code of conduct says the property closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday, when the stores close; you can still visit restaurants and businesses that stay open. Among the rules:
- Anyone under 17 must be with a parent or legal guardian after 8 p.m., and anyone under 21 is not allowed after 10 p.m.
- No skateboards, hoverboards, skating or riding bikes on the sidewalks.
- Smoking only in designated areas. No weapons of any kind, including firearms.
- Music only with headphones.
- Personal photo shoots need a badge from Concierge, in exchange for a $25 donation to Avalon’s charity partner, City of Refuge.

With kids and dogs
- Children’s Play Area next to Regal Cinemas: indoor-outdoor soft play for ages 6 and under, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. The family lounge next door has family restrooms and a nursing room.
- Avalon Express Train from outside Branch and Barrel: Fridays 4 to 7 p.m., weekends 1 to 7 p.m.; $5 cash, $6 card.
- Squirrel Scavenger Hunt: maps and clue sheets from Concierge.
- Dogs are welcome on a leash. The fenced dog park is behind Building 1000, and Concierge has water and treats. See our dog-friendly guide.
Free things at Concierge
Club Avalon Concierge offers bag check during property hours, free phone charging, umbrellas and blankets when available, bottled water and first aid. On your birthday, stop by for a free glass of wine and a birthday pin. Gift cards from $5 to $500 are sold there with a $3 activation fee.
Events
- Avalon Nights Live: free live music on The Plaza, Fridays 6 to 8 p.m., April through October. The rest of 2026: Mike Veal Band (Oct. 9), Gold Standard (Oct. 16), G Cliff and Playlist (Oct. 23) and Band X (Oct. 30). Bring chairs or blankets after 5 p.m.; no coolers.
- Makers Market: 30-plus local makers on The Plaza, Sunday, Oct. 11, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 12, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Little Acorns: preschool playtime, Tuesdays Oct. 13 and Oct. 27, 10 a.m. to noon.
- The Lighting of Avalon: the visitors bureau lists it for Sunday, Nov. 22, from 2 p.m., with Avalon on Ice opening and the tree lighting at 7 p.m.
