The gallery’s October spotlight show opens Saturday, Oct. 17; each spotlight opening includes a live “paint around” by Georgia artists from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The November show, Feed Your Eyes: A Visual Feast, opens Nov. 21. - Disney’s Descendants: The Musical, Friday, Oct. 9, to Sunday, Oct. 11, Spotlight Theater at North Point Mall, 1000 North Point Circle, Suite 2208. A youth production with performers aged 11 to 18. Shows at 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday (times: visitors bureau). Building Character.
- Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, from Friday, Oct. 23, Spotlight Theater at North Point Mall. Arcadia Theater’s comedy about two siblings whose movie-star sister arrives with a young lover and plans to sell the family farmhouse. Arcadia lists the run as Oct. 23 to Nov. 4; the visitors bureau lists evening shows at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sunday matinees through Nov. 8. Check the dates when you book. - Who Wrote This?, 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, Spotlight Theater at North Point Mall. Long-form improv from audience suggestions, then a soap opera scripted live by AI and played cold. Recommended for ages 16 and up. Building Character.

- Alpharetta Symphony: Tchaikovsky and Borodin, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, Innovation Academy auditorium, 125 Milton Ave. Borodin’s Symphony No. 2 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2, conducted by Michael Giel, with a pre-concert talk an hour before. Parking is behind the school. Alpharetta Symphony.
