Where it is
The Horizon 2045 Comprehensive Plan, adopted June 22, 2026, makes “Windward (East of GA 400)” one of its five focus areas. It says:
- Windward Parkway east of Georgia 400 “remains one of Alpharetta’s legacy employment areas,” with major employers and direct highway access.
- New employers have arrived near Edison Drive and Marconi Drive, while Windward Plaza and Alderman Drive have seen fewer workers in their offices.
- Planned projects include a MARTA Express Lane Transit station, an extension of Dryden Road and the new McGinnis Ferry Road interchange.
The Windward Parkway and Highway 9 plan, dated Feb. 23, 2024, says about 2.5 miles of the Big Creek Greenway run through its study area, with trailheads at Marconi Drive and Union Hill Park.

- Union Hill Park, 1590 Little Pine Trail, the north end of the Big Creek Greenway. Its parking is closed from Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, until spring 2027, the city says.
