Four north Fulton cities side by side: 2025 city tax rates, 2025 high school scores, August 2026 Zillow home values and Census commute times.
Last checked Oct. 4, 2026. Sources are linked in each table: the four cities’ millage notices, Fulton County and Fulton County Schools, the state’s 2025 School Grades data, Zillow Research and the Census Bureau’s 2020-2024 American Community Survey.
Alpharetta’s three nearest city neighbors are Johns Creek, about five miles east; Roswell, about five miles south; and Milton, about six miles northwest. All four are in Fulton County, share the county and school district tax rates, and are served by Fulton County Schools. What differs is the city tax rate, the city services and the homes. This page sets out the official figures; it does not rank the cities.
What this means for you
- The city line decides your city tax and services, not the mailing address. A house with an “Alpharetta” address can be in Milton, Roswell or Johns Creek.
- The school zone is separate from the city. Check every address with the district’s Find Your School lookup.
- 2026 rates are still being set. Fulton County votes Oct. 7, and Roswell, Johns Creek and Fulton County Schools have proposed increases.
