Famous Dave’s, the barbecue chain, is open on State Bridge Road. The restaurant at 10710 State Bridge Road, Suite 150, carries an Alpharetta mailing address, but it sits inside Johns Creek city limits, about five miles southeast of downtown Alpharetta.

The chain’s own location page lists it as “NOW OPEN.” It is the only Georgia restaurant on the company’s Georgia locations list.

The U.S. Census Bureau’s address geocoder places the address in the city of Johns Creek, in Fulton County. That matters if you need to contact a city about the site: it is Johns Creek’s, not Alpharetta’s.

A clean first inspection

The restaurant scored 100 on its first health inspection. An inspector carried out the initial inspection on Aug. 11 and recorded no violations, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health’s inspection records.

An initial inspection is the first one a newly permitted restaurant gets. The record does not say on which day the restaurant first served customers, and the company has not posted an opening date.
